Course Information

Courses Offered Through East Anglian Beauty Training

You will notice that some courses we offer through the Guild are followed by a number; this is the number of CPD points awarded to that course. We can provide the number of CPD hours for our courses accredited with Associated Beauty Therapists ( A.B.T.) should you require it, which will cover the average total number of hours study required for each course, including pre-reading and case studies. We have never had any issues with recognition of our courses as the companies accrediting them are long-standing and well respected throughout the industry, but you may want to check with your own insurers prior to booking. Unfortunately, there are some accreditation companies who are only concerned about money, and will ‘approve’ any courses, by any training provider; please do your research and avoid these at all costs! Their courses aren’t recognised by many insurers, which means you are tied to them forever, or you will have to pay for training again to be able to move to another insurer/accreditor. Some trainers accredit their own courses, which means they are never independently reviewed, and again, should be avoided.

We do offer training courses in Norfolk on behalf of other training schools, and those courses may be accredited with other insurers; if so, we will let you know prior to booking. If there is a course or treatment that you are interested in but don’t see listed, please get in touch, as guest trainers may be available.

Course Structure

Most of our courses follow a similar structure. Theory is sent out in advance of the practical training for pre-reading, or may be online, which covers anatomy and physiology, health and safety, business management, and subject-related theory including:-

• Client consultation and assessment

• Completion of important documentation

• Explanation of the treatment

• Agreeing the treatment

• Reasons not to treat (contra-indications)

• Things that can go wrong (contra-actions)

• Aftercare advice

• Future treatment needs

• Client preparation

• Salon and working area preparation

• Safe working techniques including all hygiene measures

• Compliance with Industry and Legal Codes of Practice

There will be home study and written tasks to complete, ideally before your practical training.

You will be required to complete and write up practical case studies, which should be submitted via email upon completion.

We are happy to make up a discounted package on request, happy to provide workshops in additional treatments, such as nail art, refresher courses, mentoring and skills updates; please contact us with your needs.
